Rusty's Aluminum HD Steering System for the JL Wrangler and JT Gladiator works great as a stand-alone replacement system or for a built rig that is ready to conquer the roughest of trails and creates a steering system that is nearly indestructible!
Rusty's JL/JT Steering System starts with a massive 1.825 diameter solid 7075 T6 aluminum for both the tie rod and the drag link. Sold as a complete unit that includes the complete tie rod and drag link assemblies with Rusty's equally massive 1.25 threaded zinc plated forged adjustable tie rod ends, massive jam nuts for the tie rod ends and also comes with serrated washers to insure the jam nuts wont come loose. A steering stabilizer bracket with the option for a standard stabilizer or a pass through style stabilizer is also included. Rusty's kit's come complete, no adding more parts.
The factory steering linkage is complicated and features compound angles that don't respond well to lifts over any heights and the system has also proven to have a few weak points. The Rusty's Steering for JL Wrangler and JT Gladiator models is beefier than anything on the market and addresses the factory shortcomings while adding significant strength all at the same time! When looking to upgrade or simply replace your factory steering components you can't go wrong with this system. All tie rod ends and components are available individually as well so replacement in the future you are not stuck having to purchase an entire tie rod or drag link again.
Please Note: You must have a 17 inch or larger wheel. The wheel must have 4.75 to 5 inches of back spacing. Back spacing is the amount of space between the back side of the wheel where the lug studs go through to the back of the wheel. The amount of clearance may still vary do to the construction of the wheel, bead style, thickness of the wheel and so on. Wheel spacers are needed on stock wheels and possibly needed on some aftermarket wheels. Rusty's offers wheel spacers from a 1/4 inch to 1.5 inches thick. If not sure on your back spacing it would be best to measure it and also compare the thickness of the wheel and bead to a factory Rubicon style wheel for the best fit.
